Gonzalo Mejia, born in Caracas Venezuela in 1990, received his first oboe class at the age of 9 with Professor Maria Alejandra Barreto and continues with teachers Miguel Rutigliano, Ricardo Riveiro among others. He then studied at the University of Lübeck, Germany, with Diethelm Jonas between 2010 and 2017, obtaining the highest grades. During his study, he received various awards, including the Lions Club Award, Kiwanis Club, 2nd place in the International Molinela Competition in Italy, 2nd place in the German University Competition and the DAAD Award. He is currently a member of the Hamburger Camerata in the position of Solo Oboe and the Hamburg Woodwind Quintet.
