Ruth Pereira Medina (Flute)

At the age of 17, Ruth won the title “Young Hope” at the 5th International Flute Competition in Andalousia, Spain. Between 2017 and 2018, Ruth has won four international flute and chamber music competitions in Austria, Italy, Colombia, and Puerto Rico. Her accomplishments include First Prize at the International Flute Dutch Competition (2018).
Born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, Ruth studied with Victor Hugo Rojas at the Latin-American Flute Academy and continued her studies in France and Germany with Mario Caroli, Stéphane Réty, Michael Faust, and Dóra Várga.
While in Germany, Ruth was a member of the Dresdner Philharmonie and Frankfurt Opera House. Her tutor and guide for the last two years has been the incredible flutist Rozália Szabó (Solo Flute at Dresden’s Semper Opera House)
Currently a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Dresden e.V., she is finishing her second Master degree. Most recently, Ruth has developed her own Online Flute Class, with students from all over the world.
