João Brasil, born in Andradina (Brazil) in 1984, had his first double bass lessons at the age of 19. In 2010 began his studies at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim (Germany) under Prof. Petru Iuga. Before he passed through other famous institutions such as Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Graz and Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien under Ernst Weissensteiner. From 2013 to 2015 he had a contract with the Stuttgart State Opera. After he was solo bassist at Sao Pedro Theather (Landesoper Sao Paulo). Since 2015 is a member of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl (co-principal) and Ensemble XX Jahrhundert (Vienna-Austria).
