Oleńka Cygan (Violin)

Oleńka Cygan, born in Madrid in 1991 and of Polish descent, began playing the violin at the age of 5 with her father.

He studied the Professional Degree with Dionisio Rodríguez, Francisco Comesaña and Anna Baget at Conservatorio Profesional de Música “Adolfo Salazar” in Madrid. In 2009 began her Bachelor at Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco “Musikene” with Keiko Wataya and after graduation i n 2013 she moved to Germany to study the Master at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main with Prof. Sophia Jaffé.

Oleńka has accumulated orchestral experience collaborating with orchestras such as Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Mainz (Paktikum Season 2018/2019), Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta Radio y Televisión Española, Orkestra-Gordan Nikolic and BandArt Members, EUYO (European Union Youth Orchestra) (2015/2016), OSB Orquesta Sinfónica Bankia, Orchester Stadttheater Giessen and working, among others, with the following conductors: David Afkham, Gordan Nikolic, Gianandrea Noseda, Xian Zhang, Juanjo Mena, Colin Metters, Arturo Tamayo, Pierre Cao, Manel Valdivieso, José María Sánchez Verdú, Miguel Romea, Shih-Hung Young.

Masterclass with Mimi Zweig, Sergei Krylov, Tomasz Tomaszewski, Quiroga Quartet, classes during their studies with musicians and professors Benedicte Palko, Andoni Mercero, Karsten Dobers, Ingo de Haas, Wilken Ranck and Prof. Hubert Buchberger as well as obtaining the awards “Turina entre Festivales 2017” (Festival with Nicolàs Dautricourt 2017), Juventudes Musicales de Madrid Scholarship 2015, Scholarship for the summer course “Villa de Llanes” 2012, among others, have enriched her training.

Oleńka currently collaborates with professional orchestras, i s a member of the Kammephilharmonie Frankfurt and Deutsche Philharmonie Merck, and develops chamber music projects such as the Feuerensemble Septet.
